About

Not so long ago, having done our fair share of big city living around the world, we upped sticks and moved to a small village and resort in the French Alps. This is a blog about life in the mountains and trying to tread as lightly as we can on this beautiful, wild land. We're building a home with hempcrete and as many natural materials as we can and starting to grow our own food, mixing permaculture techniques and local wisdom. "When we try to pick out anything by itself we find that it is bound fast by a thousand invisible cords that cannot be broken, to everything in the universe." John Muir

“True action, good and radiant action, my friend “True action, good and radiant action, my friends, does not spring from activity, from busy bustling, it does not spring from industrious hammering. It grows in the solitude of the mountains, it grows on the summits where silence and danger dwell.” — Herman Hesse #mountains #autumn #hiking #workawayweekends
